What? You didn't hear about the
"Battle of the Falls?"
well, don't worry....
because we only made it up about 3 weeks ago when we started
contemplating moving to one of the two Idaho cities claiming they had "falls."
It was an intense battle between Idaho Falls and Twin Falls. Hence, the name.
(I know, it took me forever to come up with that.)
What?
You didn't hear about how we were
thinking of moving?
well, don't worry...
because we only came up with that about three weeks ago when
it became apparant that we might have sold our house.
What?
You didn't hear that we were looking to
sell our house?
well, don't worry...
because we didn't know that either, until about three weeks ago when
we began considering a new job for one D.J. Burch, and he had two possibilities in the
aforementioned cities.
What?
Yeah...this could go on forever...and it's almost two in the morning,
so I'll make this quick, but I promised several of you that I would keep you posted :-)
so here I am, making good on my promise.
We're moving to Twin Falls, Idaho
within the next 2-3 weeks when we finish packing our 3100 sq. foot house into a 26-foot trailer.
While experiencing a bit of denial when it comes to leaving our
friends and family here in Arizona, we're superbly excited about this new adventure, and can't wait to find out what lies ahead in Idaho.
It all became very much more of a reality this week (along with the final job offers, and a surprise decision) when Doug was released from the bishopric on Sunday. It didn't seem real to me until then. Even with the increasing echoes sounding in various rooms in the house, that now seems incredibly final, thus I felt I should herald the news.
Doug and I are venturing North this week to find a house.
It is then that I will assess to what level of thickness my new winter coat will need to be.

Well, let me be the first to say, welcome to the North! It's fun up here, and he cold really helps to clear the brain. I'm sure a regular down-filled ski coat will be plenty thick for you. :) Twin falls is just under 6 hours from the great city of Bozeman, Montana, if you ever feel like visiting.
A happy new chapter in the Burch book. But very sad for all those in PV who will miss such a gifted, giving, and talented family!

I don't think I am going to let you go- this isn't fair!! That is too far away! You'll come and visit me every month right :) And we'll meet up somewhere, one of these states in between us, to do more triathlons right. This isn't fair doing this to me when my hormones are crazy after just having a baby- ughhh.
But you'll be much less busy in Idaho and have lots of time to talk and write... right :) I am very sad to see you guys go, and no I am not at the point that I can say go Idaho... maybe soon but not now.
Wow Kerrianne! I had NO idea (apparently like many). I'm excited for you! I have had to look at our moves as adventures and believe me, they have been! I do know how you feel about leaving PV. It was hard when we left, after 8 yrs. and it's hard to believe it's been almost 3 years since we left! I wish you weren't just going north, but more like east! We could use a great family like yours here in Kirtland, OH! Good luck with your move, I don't envy you the packing, it's still too fresh in my mind! LOL
All I can tell you is that when we moved to Boise, we discovered that what passed for a winter coat in PV was in NO WAY warm enough for Idaho.

WOW~! I guess I missed my chance to have you do some family portraits... bummer! I have a niece in TF, I will email you her name and # just in case you need anything. You two will like each other and become fast friends should you actually meet!
Congratulations on your new adventure! Maybe we'll meet ya there! We've been thinking about getting out of CA and Idaho is one of our choices! Let me know how you like it! Good luck with finding a new house and moving and everything!

To the PV friends of the Burches:
Never fear. As you well know, Kerri (or KerriANNE as she's known there I guess) is an A-Number-One friend. The good news for you is that she's also outstanding in the capacity of keeping in touch. En serio. I love that she can call and say, "Jenny? It's Kerri," just like she did when we lived mere yards from each other, as if no time has passed.
You didn't win Twin Falls....they won you....and what a prize they are getting. We are, of course, VERY sad to see you go. Go Id... Go Id..., nope, we can't say it yet either Mary. Soon though. Maybe we will cross paths again when we visit relatives in Idaho Falls.....ah, sweet solace! We will always remember the Burch family. No goodbyes....we'll see you when we see you. :)
Ok, that picture looks beautiful...I can't wait to see all of the pictures you take up there. Just one question though, who is going to do the 4th year hike? Good luck house hunting and with the move.

Hey...I was just on Jackie Ostler (Brown)'s blog and she moved to Twin Falls a year ago! Maybe you could talk to her about the area and what-not! So fun for you both to be from Redlands and all!
