multi-tasking past midnight

It's a late ..... morning of multi-tasking here at 3:29 AM.

The silence is soothing after a day like today.

The Nocturnal Events include:

1. BBQ chicken and Beef roasting, stirring, seasoning

(for the lunch I'm serving 60 teachers in 6 hours).

2. Photo editing

as a reward in between cleaning the car and cleaning the kitchen after which BOTH will sit for a good 2 hours in cleanliness before being immediately destroyed.

3. Web Designing

new clients - new logo - executing new skills on the new program while at the same time creating my final project for my nearly-finished Dreamweaver Class.

4. Stalling on Blogger

because I don't want to re-start the kitchen for the 4th time.

K. over and out. I'll sleep tomorrow night.

okay, I lied.

It's MY blog, I can post what I want, right?

I was editing tonight, and ended up with this.

one more...I promise

...since I've been taking pictures of this family for FOUR days now (lds wedding...you know the drill) I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do tomorrow when he and the rest of 'em are gone.

I have about 1000 pictures sitting raw on my external HD, waiting for my attention. Sadly, my children have no clothing to wear because it's all in a pile the size of Madagascar downstairs waiting for my folding attention. In three weeks, when I finish that, I'll post some of the wedding and the rest of the baby and family shots.

on preserving moments...

At the risk of my FAMILY blog turning into a PHOTOGRAPHY gallery, I think I'll soon devote a new blog to my creative side. Much like my mentor and cousin-in-law Audrey.

In the meantime, the following are the result of some out-of-town visitors being willing to loan me their babies yesterday. I had entirely too much fun.

Companionship

I've been sick for a couple of days now (stomach-flu-ish. Joy.)

So, rather than doing the things I SHOULD be doing to represent myself as a good mother and housekeeper, I'm finding companionship in my misery elsewhere.

#1. The computer makes me feel better.

While avoiding colorful (or any) food, I found color in this pic.

#2. My kids make great company.
Yesterday my eldest stayed home from school to avoid coughing up a lung.

I rented "Bridge to Terebithia" and warned him it was sad.

I cried. He just looked at me funny.
But I quite enjoyed our silent bonding.

#3. Diet Coke will always make any problem seem more bearable.

And since I've given up on eating solid food, I'm relying solely on the aforementioned for any kind of energy whatsoever.

Thank You SONIC- for offering it at half-price during the part of the day that requires it the most. (what must they charge for a skater girl to deliver one in that size to my car?)

#4. Doug would make a great companion for a day like today.
However, he's down in Phoenix on a bishopric-like errand and I'll be lucky to see him before 9.

So it goes...Go Forth and Serve, Douglas.

Lookin' Great - Even Late

So, I bit the bullet and decided to buy some studio lighting. They're definitely a starter set for me, but - - okay, I already love them.
I borrowed Abby's friend and her mom (my friend) to join in the fun while Doug, Boys and Whitney were getting their free T-shirts at the D-backs game.
Here's a smidgen (7 of 393) of what transpired while they were gone:

This last picture proves quite vividly, that it was nearly 9:30 pm when we finished, and certain people who are usually asleep by 7:30 were more than ready to be done.

I still have a lot to learn, but clearly I'm going to have fun doing it.

Caution: Upper Baby Frontal Nudity

I'm trying out some new backgrounds (as well as my bravery with Manual settings on my camera) and just got my latest last week - Black seamless paper.

Yesterday I decided to try it out.

Kyle was less than interested in participating, so I gave him a sucker which made for a nice "W.T. baby" photograph.

It was fun while it lasted (all 45 seconds).

Sidenote: (in regards to my post title)

I had to laugh when one of the Christian Movie Review websites strongly cautioned me recently that "I Am Legend" had Male Upper Frontal Nudity. whoa - - living dangerously.

Conference on the Wall...

So, we wanted to watch conference as a family, but since the only cable in the house is in our bedroom, we figured we'd better come up with a different viewing solution.

Here's what we came up with:

it was great being able to stand up as a family and sustain President Monson.
