Ski ya next time...

I've created two monsters. I'll have to save up for season passes next winter, seeing as how there's not enough season left to justify the purchase this year.

They are hooked. And...oh how it was gorgeous up there.

Poor Tate.
K... he spent the first 40 minutes with ME as his instructor, which was doomed from the start.

After almost relenting to asking him if he wanted to read in the car,
ENTER: off-duty instructor
observing the tears threatening to well up in our collective eyes.

He saved the day and in about 35 seconds successfully taught him to snowplow AND turn.
Go figure. I'll stick to teaching chords and scales.

He was set after that (and smiling!) but will wait for our next trip to try the lift. It was a significant jump in difficulty. They need a few new beginner runs.

Although a natural at it, and surprised even me with his daredevilishness, even Bret did a face-plant or ten on his way down the first time.

Confession: I forgot how much I love it. I'll be saving for my own season pass too. :)

This is what happens when you give your camera to a 13 year-old passer-by on her way to the lodge for more pop rocks, unwilling to have patience for pressing the button half-way before shooting.

oh well. At least everyone in the background is in focus.
However blurrily, it DOES document the fact that we survived the day together.

a mixed bag of mixed stuff...

Yes, I've neglected my blog recently, but with good cause.
I've been tending to facebook. The two deserve equal time, yes?
Other time-consuming projects include 1.)administering childrens cough suppresant 2.)dodging Valentines Shoppers to get milk at the store 3.)beating various friends at certain racquetball games, and of course...
4.) pics, pics and more pics of all these love-lies...

Need a princess at your next party?
go HERE.

Thankfully, some of my clients are so flexible with their talents while I shoot them.

Some of them make me want to be a senior in high school again and ask a cute boy to a Sweetheart dance.

Others make me think I'm still at "Munch'n'Mingle" in PV.

Meeting new people makes me smile.
Especially when they do the same.

And alas... one day remains in our four-day weekend.
Note to self: If another one of those comes around in the dead of the winter, go on the scrapaway even if you don't scrapbook.

the ♥ day post...

Admittedly, we're not the most outgoing when it comes to Valentine's Day.
This year is no exception. Especially since I spent a quiet night last night with some Nyquil and my pillow.
That stuff is better than chocolate for me. I feel much better today.

Doug and the kids woke early as I slept off the Nyquil hangover and made
heart-shaped pancakes, pink eggs and hashbrowns.

Props to Doug, he can cook one mean breakfast.
Happy ♥ day to all.

Nie-High

I'm still coming off of what I'm calling the Nie-High.

The concert was incredible.
I am so honored to have been a part of it.

Mindy summed it up well here
and Haley documented it well here
(thanks for the pilfered pics, btw)
It was great rubbing shoulders with cjane and the others, meeting Mindy & family, trying to hold the camera still while watching The Thrillionaires and holding back tears, as I listened to Claire and Jane sing.

I even got to interview David Osmond in all his idol-crazed-fame.
(so sad to see him cut last night though)

I can't seem to get the 6 hours of video onto my computer, so may have to relent my duties there to someone more experienced. We shall see...

In the meantime, we're all switching over to "I Read Nie" buttons, so feel free to do the same. Cjane explains here.
Amidst such an uncertain mix of emotion in the world, it's so heart-warming to see so much good.
Here's to feeling full of Nie-like love.
There's nothing better.
Shouts (galore) out to Jenny for housing me (and being the mastermind of the auction - awesome!) and to her children for entertaining me.

Until next time Provo, love ya.
